OUR PUMPKIN FARMAt first, Richard and Janice Hamby grew the pumpkins in different locations in the Carolinas and Georgia. Then in 1989, when Hurricane Hugo hit the east coast, our crop was destroyed. Because the owners were committed to our partners to provide pumpkins, they went far and wide to buy pumpkins to supply to our partners. One of the places they found especially beautiful pumpkins was on the Navajo Reservation in Farmington, NM. This is the farm location today! |

Indiana-Amish |
OUR AMISH PARTNERSIndiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania comprise America’s “Amish Heartland”. Roughly 65% of the total Amish population is found in these three states. The Amish are known for their caring and protection of the family farm and livestock. In recent years, Amish have migrated to less-populous areas of the country such as the western and northern states. Indiana is currently the leading state for new Amish settlement. With its abundant farmland and relatively low population density, Indiana remains an attractive place for Amish to live, with a rate of growth that has outpaced both Ohio and Pennsylvania over the past 2 decades. Our major partnership is with the Indiana Amish to help as an outlet for their farm product. |

Our Pumpkin Patch at FCCRE/UCC, River Edge, NJWe are very proud of our program and want you to come see it! Every 5-7 days, trucks are loaded up with fresh pumpkins, leave our New Mexico farm and make the two-day trip across the country. Because of the arid growing climate, pumpkins come in fresh and beautiful. They are great for carving, decorations, and fresh enough for cooking as well. In addition to pumpkins, we bring in Wee Bee Littles, Minis, Small Assorted Gourds, Winged Gourds and Large Gourds (including Swan Necks). They are all fresh, dry and colorful! From the Amish Stores, we bring in fresh fruit filling and make our own pies and fruit cookies. We also have picked beans, onions and other relish assortments as well as dried nuts and fruits. There is plenty to see, lots of picture taking spots to capture the glee of small children and some additional holiday items for purchase. We also do story-telling! So, come join us and have some fun! |
